The Most Important Thing
BY: Jon Sanchez | Date:
“If you’re happy, that’s probably the most important thing. Everyone probably has their own definition of success, for me it’s happiness. Do I enjoy what I’m doing? Do I enjoy the people I’m with? Do I enjoy my life?” – Michael Dell
It sounds simple enough, but Mr. Dell’s advice is profound. More importantly, it’s not just talk – happiness is a big part of the culture of his business.
I’ve had the chance to work closely with Dell leaders from around the country and I see the same philosophy wherever I go. How do we maximize our enjoyment around our day-to-day work? How do we build teams that work well but also enjoy the journey together? How do we build leaders and high performers who have a work-life balance that promotes happiness and productivity all at the same time?
It’s not easy, but it’s a goal that’s entirely reachable. It takes vigilance and an executive team that’s always on the same page. Our team at TPI helps organizations of all sizes build teams and top performers through executive coaching, team workshops and strategy planning. We help keep them inspired, effective, motivated. And happy.
